As required pursuant to both constitutional and statutory provisions, reestablishment is a process by which the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania reviews the boundaries of the magisterial districts within each county. This review is undertaken the year following the Federal decennial census. As such, the magisterial districts with Northumberland County have been analyzed and evaluated with respect to population, caseload, and workload measures. As a result of this analysis, a recommendation is planned to be submitted to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court that no magisterial districts be added or deleted and that no boundaries be realigned in Northumberland County.
