Notice for Public Comment: Magisterial District Reestablishment Plan

As required pursuant to both constitutional and statutory provisions, reestablishment is a process by which the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania reviews the boundaries of the magisterial districts within each county.  This review is undertaken the year following the Federal decennial census.  As such, the magisterial districts with Northumberland County have been analyzed and evaluated with respect to population, caseload, and workload measures.  As a result of this analysis, a recommendation is planned to be submitted to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court that no magisterial districts be added or deleted and that no boundaries be realigned in Northumberland County.

Interested parties may view the proposed plan for a period of 30 days.  The time for public comment will expire at the close of business on Friday, February 11, 2022.  The plan is accessible from the Northumberland County Government homepage ( or daily between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm in the Court Administrators Office at the Northumberland County Courthouse.  Public comments related to Northumberland County’s plan may be mailed to c/o District Court Administrator, Northumberland County Courthouse, 201 Market Street, Sunbury, PA 17801.
